HOW TO REACH:

By Air: Nearest Airport is Bagdogra (100kms / 03 hrs drive) is connected with Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati through all domestic airlines.

By Road: The most convenient entry point to Dooars is through Siliguri and most important spots in the Dooars. From Siliguri to Dooars is approx 80 kms.

By Rail: Also broadguage rail connection between New Jalpaiguri and Mal, Madarihat, Nilpara, Jainti, Mainaguri, Dhupguri  and Falakata. Metregauge rail station is New Jalpaiguri which connects this area from other parts of country.

Best Time to Visit: Between September and March, specially in winter to catch a view of the migratory birds.

PLACE OF INTEREST :

Jaldapara wildlife Sanctuary : Around 146 km. from siliguri the home of One Horned Rhino (Rhinoceros unicons), Indian Elephant, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Gaur, Shamber, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Indian Civet, Jungle Cat, Otter, Sloth Beer. The total area is 216.15 sq.km. The main entry point is from Madarihat town, adjacent to N.H. – 31. The Santuary is a delightful natural wilderness crisscrossed by a numbers of streams and rivers as Malangi and Torsa flowing from East to West.Elephant ride through the forest will be a memorable experience.

Garumara Wildlife Sanctuary: Around 80 kms From Siliguri, known for its exquisite flora & fauna, one can enjoy the exceptional wildlife of this region. Ensconced in the watershed areas of river murti & Jaldhaka, the main attraction includes Rhinocerers, Elephant, Gaur, Biscon, Leopard & Hornbill.

Chalsa : Around 70 Kms.from Siliguri.At the upper portion of the Chalsa River, the view of Chalsa town and adjoining forest is very charming. There are some other tourist spot such as Samsing, Mataili and Samsing Tea Gardens.

Samsing: A pleasure trip along the meandering emerald green river, cool shades of orange orchades, sleephy hamlets, picturesque tea garden and the lofy Himalayas.

Chapramari: A wild life sanctuary, which provides and excellent viewing of the flora, fauna and wild life activities in the region.

Murti River: Near Gorumara and Chapramari forests, the view around Murti River is very enchanting.

South Khairbari Leopard Rehabilitation Centre: A perfect picnic spot for a joy- loving family looking forward to relax and have fun amidst boating, car safari in the kingdom of Leopards, a children Park  and a soothing quietude to the sylvan surroundings.

Jaigaon: It is a small township at the Bhutan foothills by the side of river Amo-chu (Torsa) and Dhutikhola emerged from the Bhutan hill. Phuntsholing, the biggest commercial town of Bhutan is almost in continum of Jaigaon making the two sister cities. Phuntsholing is also the gateway to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. In Jaigaon there is a monastery (Buddhist temple) which is marked for its architectural nuances.

Lava – Lolaygaon: Hiden in the mist and clouds almost throughout the air, these town are situated at 7755 ft. against the backdrop of the Neora valley national park. The main attraction are Lava Monestry, Neoa Lake, Siviculture Research Station.

Bindu: It is only 107 km. from Siliguri. The last hamlet of West Bengal, Bindu is a valley encircled with hills of Bhutan and India on the banks of river Jaldhaka. It is a feast for the eyes and a stimulating experience for the mind. There are so many places tourist can visit.

Bindu Dam: Built on the Jaldhaka River. Rare view of the Bhutan Himalayas of snow peak mountains in the winters.

Jaldhaka Hydel Project: The first hydroelectric project in India can be visited with the priorpermission of the WBSEB authorities.

Cardamon Curing Centre: 14 km from Bhutan. Indias best Cardamom is dyed and processed here before shipment.

Gairibas Daiscorrea Plantation: On the way to Bindu this place can be visited where a large area is under cultivation of medical plant especially Diascorrea.

Godak Village: 15 km from Bindu. Belief of the tribes personified in the Debi sthan (house of Goddess) watch the crowd worshipping a tiny river that emanates from a singe rock that never dries up.

DOOARS – TREASURES OF WILDLIFE 03 NIGHTS & 04 DAYS

Day 01: Pick up from New Jalpaiguri Station / Bag Dogra Airport and transfer to Chalsa / Lataguri. On arrival check into your hotel Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.

Day 02: Early morning visit Jungle by Jeep in Garumara watch Tower. Back to the hotel for breakfast. After Breakfast visit Local village, Tea Garden & Moorty River.  Afternoon visit Chuchuki / Khunia Watch Tower. Evening Free for leisure activities. Overnight stay.

Day 03: After breakfast visit Jhalong and Bindu / Jaldapara. Back to hotel for lunch. After lunch visit Tea Garden. Overnight stay.

Day 04: After breakfast transfer New Jalpaiguri Station / Bag Dogra Airport or can continue journey for Sikkim / Darjeeling trip.
